Drydocks Pipe Fitter Training
Overview
Ship Building is a combination of art, science and engineering. But there are several other important factors to be considered in ship building. Therefore, the curriculum includes types of ships, materials, welding and cutting, ship structure, outfitting, design, dimensions, displacement, stability, propulsive characteristics, hull form, general arrangement, structural details, prefabrication, shell plating, framing, decks, hatches, superstructure, tanker construction, pumping, piping, painting, corrosion control, ventilation, refrigeration, testing, launching, international regulations and shipyard layout.
The Training in Piping and Supporting is provided at well-equipped workshops manned by able and experienced trainers at shipyards.
Key Skills
Imparts skills using tools and equipment, for installation, repair and pre-commissioning of marine and process piping systems as per the relevant project specifications and standards.
Training Objective
The program is designed to educate and train the students in ship building technology with a view to
performing pipe fitter jobs at ship building or ship repair industries which are of highest standard.
Eligibility
At least 21 years of age and capable of reading and understanding the English language
